The House on the Rock

Therefore everyone who hears these words, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock. rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock. But anyone who hears these words and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; He and the rain descended, and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall. Matthew 7: 24-27

The mystery of the House on the Rock

All the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 16:29) are expressed in a manner to be decided as a riddle is solved: pondering long and deeply on them.

After these little mysteries, there are treasures (Matthew 13: 44-47), hidden things in store for their children (1 Corinthians 2: 9) invaluable, because once revealed, guide us on our way to eternal life. However, not all is given to know these truths but only those who remain faithful and attached to the Lord.

Then the disciples came and said to him, Why do you speak in parables? He answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given. Matthew 13: 10-13

Of course, the case of the "parable of the house on the Rock" is no different, it is also involved teaching a small mystery, as is not talking about an ordinary house, but in a very specific, that if we extract all the teaching, we identify.

To begin our task, we note that this teaching refers to two types of land where you can build: the rock and sand, which are in any coast. Thus the house to which our Lord alludes is a built beachfront, but as we said, is not just any house, but a lighthouse.

What is the function of a lighthouse?

Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 16

The primary function of a lighthouse is to enlighten the boats that pass close to at night or during those tormenas know where the coast and not crash into the reefs or run aground on the beach. So, like a beacon, our lives have the function to light the way for others to eternal life and avoid, not run aground in sin.

Then then the house that we build on the rock is a beacon that should enlighten men, but what will be the rock upon which we build?

The Rock is Jesus Christ

and all drank the same spiritual drink; they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10: 4
For no one can lay any foundation other than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

The Word shows us that Jesus Christ is the Rock and He is the Word of God (John 1: 1) by which they were created all things (Genesis 1: 3 / John 1: 3 / John 1:10 / 1 Corinthians 8: 6 / Colossians 1: 15-17 / Hebrews 1: 1-2).

Our life must shine, but at the same time must be based on the Word of God as already know, he is our Lord Jesus Christ.

So that as a lighthouse, which is built on the rocks precisely to avoid the storms they throw down -interchangeable our lives to enlighten the men, must be firmly grounded in the Word of God, for what otherwise sooner or later they come down to not withstand the onslaught of storms, which are tests of this life. And if you do not support the trials of this life, finally they not endure the judgment in the other.

The house built on the Rock is the body that dwell in the afterlife

Because we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5: 1

The Parable of the house on the Rock speaks of the body we have to present and we will have after the resurrection, the house on the rock is the body resurrected IN WHICH dwell all eternal life. Only basing our present life in the Word resist the scourge of evil symbolized by storm (Matthew 8: 24-26 / Mark 4: 37-40), which as stated above in this life are the trials and in the other trial - and victorious resurrected to eternal life with a celestial body and therefore also eternal (1 Corinthians 15: 35-53).

The cost base our earthly life in the Word

Building a house on the rock is neither cheap nor easy, but eventually, when the waves and the winds whip against that edificiación, the results are appreciated. Similarly, when we build our lives obeying the Word of God, not us come cheap terrenales- strict -in terms, or easy, but when we go to eternal judgment and whipped the waves and winds testifying against us, our obedience we will be saved from the ruinous destruction.

Certainly obey the Word in material terms it will be the most expensive, but like as he who built his house upon a rock, when we are in the afterlife all our hardships because of obedience will be rewarded (Matthew 7: 21-27) .

False learnings builds on sand beach

This people honor me; But, his heart is away from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15: 8-9

It should be added that, desdichosamente, much of Christianity as practiced today-not all of course is not the same as the apostles taught the first Christians. Throughout the centuries, what started as a simple brotherhood of faith, has become a huge and hideous mass of say the least, the commandments of men.

But the Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4: 1

Many modern Christians, for their great indifference to the Word, not even know they actually have been recruited into a cult, widespread, populous and prosperous in earthly terms (Revelation 3: 15-18), but sect after all (1 John 2:19). -desviada Sect as all- whose leaders, mere charlatans of faith (2 Corinthians 2:17), not teach anything else but to build comfortably on the sand of the beach.

But anyone who hears these words and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; He and the rain descended, and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall. Matthew 7: 26-27
But there were also false prophets among the people, as there shall be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed, and their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. On such as long time their judgment is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter 2: 1-3

Each time we decided to actually obey doctrines commandments of men, disobey God and dangerously base our future life on sand. It is very easy to build on the beach and go very pleasant to live there, but when night falls and raging storms force is great and dreadful destruction.

Get ready for the storm

And as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27

Today it is necessary for the sake of our future that we return to the Word in our lives and identify anything that does not come from God and are merely commandments of men.

Judgment is approaching and it will begin by the House of God (1 Peter 4:17). So everyone without exception-just when approaching storm windows and doors shore, we prepare ourselves reviewing everything we have learned and our actions, because although this side have met the Merciful God, the other side will know the Implacable and Just God (Exodus 34: 6-7 / Nahum 1: 3), which is no respecter of persons (Deuteronomy 10:17).

The day will judge our souls we will not have JUSTIFICATION for not obeying, as we had the Word to our hand, we knew read and lived in peace and freedom. Things that early Christians did not have.

Peter and the apostles said: We must obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29
