The Word of God is the only spiritual food that gives eternal life.
Each food mentioned in the Word is a symbol whose meaning must know: the forbidden fruit of Genesis, the manna falling from heaven, quail who coveted the Israelites; barley, wheat, salt, yeast, wine, fruit, oil, fish ...
The law of Moses, besides the fruit of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2: 15-17), mentioned in Leviticus 11 as a series of banned pig, rat, rabbit, food etc. which also saved each in themselves an interesting symbolism as soon as possible we need to be addressed, it is vital for a healthy spiritual life information.
Not by bread alone doth man live
... To let you know that not by bread alone doth man live. Deuteronomy 8: 3
God's Word teaches that we must not only feed the physical body, but also our inner self needs food. But the food it needs our inner self is different from the physical, which enters the mouth, for being spiritual-as we shall see later must enter through the ear.
Just as our physical body requires good food, also our inner being needs to eat properly. If we do not eat our hours began to lose heart and we are not ready for the challenges that increasingly demanding everyday life presents us.
Similarly, without a healthy spiritual food, our inner being faints and when the trial comes, we fall into temptation.
Spiritual junk food
Also, as is not good eating junk food on the street and at all times, because our body to be poorly fed sick. Nor should we even come close to eating the crap defective and full of filth that offer false prophets, which besides being expensive is bad spiritual food.
You just need to know how our Lord of the teachings of false prophets who are unclean and detestable (Partly them chapter of Leviticus 11 that I mentioned refers back) is expressed.
... All tables are full of vomit. Isaiah 28: 8
Get used to eat dirt serving false prophets is as deadly as eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner, greasy burgers and pizzas made with unwashed hands, full of all kinds of hairs and secretions of those who cooked daily; and visited by filthy loathsome little creatures (not exaggerating, the holy law of Moses shows that are so abhorrent teachings of them, you'll see when we study the chefs of old who are Levites).
The importance of healthy eating
If we eat unhealthy food, eventually our body fat and we are exposed to heart attacks or diseases such as diabetes; we bite our teeth, infected intestine, etc.
For as we are careful to physically feed we must be demanding for food that feeds our spirits. We must also take good habit of eating healthy and clean spiritual food.
Healthy spiritual food
In short, the Word teaches us that there are two kinds of spiritual food: healthy and killing. Of course the Word urges us to take the pure spiritual food and unleavened emanates from herself and also, unlike that offer false prophets, it is free and healthy, it gives eternal life:
Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and those who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy without money and without price, wine and milk. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of David. Isaiah 55: 1-3
As we said, this passage shows that unlike physical food, healthy, clean and free spiritual nourishment comes through the ears, but the same goes for inside and nourishes and strengthens us.
Chefs and diners
The Word of God teaches us that both preparing spiritual food, as those who eat must be demanding. Not bad teachers of the Word ordinances deepen the Levites who served at the altar. Ordinances which incidentally today apply modern chefs, such as washing hands, wearing cap, gown, etc., and also, of course, as every rite, have implied a spiritual meaning.
We all know how demanding are feeding those obedient to the law of Moses Jews. We Christians, that the law of Moses alone must draw its spiritual meaning, we need to be equally demanding in our spiritual nourishment.
Not that we should abstain from eating pork or rabbit (Mark 7: 19 / Acts 15: 1-24). But we must refrain from eating unclean spiritual food that these animals represent (Mark 7: 18-23) (At the end of this post I leave the link of the article entitled "forbidden foods" which dig a little deeper on this).
So the Word not only requires spiritual food that take the people are prepared with love, excellence and cleanliness, but also requires spiritual diners develop good taste for food; we are more demanding in what we took to heart and avoid possible eating bad food; make gestures to dirty, pissed and full of filth of false prophets spiritual food.
Your words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; because your name is called upon me, O Lord God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16
He said: Son of man, eat what you find yourself; eat this roll, and go speak to the house of Israel. And I opened my mouth and made me eat that roll. He said to me, Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your bowels with this roll that I give you. And I ate, and it was in my mouth as honey. Ezekiel 3: 1-3
He answered and said, It is written: Not by bread alone doth man live, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4: 4
